Saree is considered to be the most elegant attire for women in India. It could perhaps be the only oldest dress that is not worn but draped around. The length of the fabric is something between 5 to 9 yards. In India, women for ages wore sarees; today with changing times the way of draping has also changed.

Traditionally it is draped around combined with a figure hugging blouse and a petticoat. Simply search online for best deals on sarees, blouse and petticoat. Blouse is a garment that is worn in the upper part complete with sleeves. Blouse is often made of stretchable fabric, so that it can be carried easily as is often stitched to give a tight fit. Stretchable fabric makes it easy for the body to maneuver with ease and comfort.  Petticoat is a long skirt worn below waist as usually a skirt is worn.   One end of the saree is tucked on to the petticoat and draped around with a bunch of pleats. The pleats should fall in the middle just below the naval. Well done pleats add to the grace of saree and of course enhance the personality as well! Finally the other end is brought in the front and hung onto the shoulders (either of the shoulder).

Since saree comes in a long running single piece of fabric, it looks beautiful. The fabric could be silk, cotton, Georgette, chiffon etc; it comes in different colors and prints. You can wear it to suit any occasion.
